Christmas Animal workshop

  • Discover how reindeer have evolved to survive in the cold often dark environment around the North Pole, and ways in which they are unique from all other species of deer.
  • Learn which end of the Earth various polar species are found.
  • Discuss how polar bears are predominantly solitary animals and act out how they move and hunt around their Arctic habitat.
  • Polar bear and sea ice game - demonstrating the effects of climate change on these wonderful animals.
  • Have a go at moving like an Emperor penguin over the Antarctic ice sheet, then have a go at trying to transfer your egg between your penguin feet without it touching the freezing ice!
  • Discover why robins have a red breast and the role it plays in their behaviour.
  • Looking for robins and other song birds in the area, and exploring ways we can help these birds get through the harsh winter months.
  • Decorate your own Wildside Nature Christmas tree decoration to take home.

£30 per child per session or two siblings for £50 per session.

Workshops are suitable for children aged between 4 and a half and 11 years.
